I facilitate both online and hands-on workshops on a variety of evolving topics.  Everything I teach stems from a combination of my personal experiences as an Early Childhood Educator, research, and curiosity.  I frame each workshop as an inquiry, similar to how I promote exploration, play, and learning in an Early Childhood setting.  You can learn more about different workshop opportunities below.

"Teachers As..." Series

This series began in July 2016 with the Teachers as Writers course.  Early Childhood Education is demanding, and we wear a number of hats as administrators and teachers.  Teachers are expected to be writers, photographers, designers, philosophers, and more, and when we understand those tasks, our learning environments become richer.  Rather than making these tasks seem daunting, the "Teachers As..." series aims to promote how we already look in those hats, and embrace and enhance our personal spin on those ideas. These workshops are held online in a community space, with different inquiry-based tasks to do on your own schedule each week during the four-week course.

Materials and Prompts

I am deeply interested in the role that materials can play in Early Childhood settings. Materials and Prompts workshops are an inquiry to the "stuff" that we use with children, with a focus on design and invitations as an inquiry into prompting play and deep exploration.

Materials + Prompts workshops support teachers in using open-ended materials to support all areas of child development, as well as learning in content areas.

Please contact me if you are interested in hosting or attending a workshop.

Hybrid Workshops

Most learning opportunities for educators should have a bit of alone time for work and writing and reading and experimenting, alongside hands-on time with a group of like-minded educators. Hybrid workshops offer that opportunity. These workshops are customized for the space, the group, and the time available, but add online elements before and after a physical hands-on workshop.
