Welcome to the Little Perspectives online workshop!
This workshop is designed to help you create an understanding of what children as photographers might look like in your educational setting. All of the Bakers and Astronauts workshops are centered around the idea that every child, every group of children, every learning environment, and every community is wonderfully different from the next. How photography looks in my classroom may be different than yours, and we can celebrate that rather than framing it as a problem! In this workshop, you'll learn about why we should allow children the space and materials to be photographers, and the role that we, the educator, can play in their photographic explorations.
There are four parts: an introduction, a look at the research and background on photography, examples of the idea in action, and prompts and provocations to plan for including children as photographers in your curriculum.
This course includes audio, downloadable PDFs, and text. Simply start at the top of the page and scroll down through the information. Use the "Next" and "Back" navigation buttons at the top and bottom of each page to move from one part to the next. Use the "Home" button on the bottom of each page to return to the introduction page.
This course is best viewed on a computer, or in your web browser on your tablet. Although you can access information using your smartphone, you'll have the best experience with a larger screen.
